Events

Day 1 (Aug. 7) - Tutorials

10:00 - 12:30

Hands-on Tutorial: Introduction to Artificial Neural Network

Artifical neural network (ANN) is a family of models that sits at the foundation of deep learning and modern AI systems. In this tutorial, participants will learn the basic structure of an ANN, how to code one in Python, and train the model with data.

Prerequisites:

  • A basic understanding of statistics or econometrics.
  • Prior knowledge in Python coding is helpful but not necessary.

14:00 - 17:30

Hands-on Tutorial: Introduction to Large Language Models

Large language models (LLMs). In this tutorial, participants will learn the basic structure of an LLM, the difference between closed-source and open-sourced models, and practical usage considerations such as hardware requirements.

Prerequisites:

  • A basic understanding of statistics or econometrics.
  • Prior knowledge in ANN and Python coding are helpful but not necessary.
