Research Interest

Digital economy & development economics. Focus on topics in entrepreneurship, e-commerce, digitization,innovation, and small-and-micro enterprises (SMEs) in China.

Biography

Prof. Xiaohan Yang is a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on development economics and the digital economy. He also has rich field survey experience and has been deeply involved in the Enterprise Survey for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in China (ESIEC) and the Quarterly Online Survey on Micro-and-Small Enterprises (OSOME).

Prior to joining the CUHK as a visiting scholar in December 2023, he also served as an Economist and Senior Data Analyst at Alibaba. Dr. Yang received his Ph.D. in theoretical economics and B.Sc. in environmental science & economics (double major) from Peking University.
