CHAN Ho Yi

Corie Chan is currently a final year undergraduate student majoring at Economics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Corie is a part-time coach at Tak Chi Martial Art. She communicates with other organizations’ representatives in competitions and performances. She also manages a team of 6 members, which she builds strong relationships among the members, and inspires them to set new goals. Before this role, Corie was a part-time assistant coach at the same organization, where she operated weekly courses and organized large-scale parties for students.

Corie likes drawing and is a movie-lover from Hong Kong.

HO Yuet Yee

I am a detail-minded person with analytical skills and communication skills. I pay attention to every single detail and I usually can spot out the small mistakes that other people may overlook. I was a summer intern in the Census and Statistics Department. During my internship, I coded and inspected over 1600 questionnaire with high precision. I also worked for Collinson as an operations and support administrator and liaised with merchant partners and handled email enquiries of an international online loyalty reward program which have reinforced my problem-solving skills. I served as the President of the Economics Society of United College in CUHK. During my terms of office, I had innumerable opportunities to communicate with various kind of people through meetings, proposal presentations and member gatherings. These have strengthened my interpersonal and communication skills. I went on an exchange programme in Finland and gained wider exposure and cultivated an international insight.

JIN JIATENG

From my study and research work, I am familiar with analyzing contentious situations by economics models and quantitative mathematical tools. Statistical software like STATA are also frequently used in my academic work.

Debating also contributes a lot to my pluralistic thinking and inquisitive personality. As the captain of Mandarin Debating Team of Chinese University of Hong Kong, I am used to dealing with the same case from different standpoints, and being open to all kinds of opinions. In my tenure, the team won one first prize, two second prizes and three third prizes in international and regional competitions.

Paving the way for working in financial sector, I have concentrated on Financial and Business Economics, those courses provide me a lot of knowledge about the function and importance of the financial sector, so I would like to work in the bank or financial company as a start point of my career. Secondly, I have enhanced my presentation, communication and problem-solving skills through my working experiences, those skills is useful for me to work under pressure and work as a team. Moreover, I am enthusiastic in all things and will focus on my work and work hard until I meet my goal.

With strong learning ability, excellent teamwork skill and great academic performance, I am now pursuing MSc Economics @ CUHK. My bachelor’s degree courses, business competitions and internship experience armed me with financial and management knowledge. I also learn statistical software by self-study and postgraduate courses. I obtained a BS in Financial Economics, held 3 financial internships. Upon graduation holding 4 years professional work experience. Notably as senior broker I executed trades for clients in equities, derivative securities and fixed income products daily. I have experience filling complex multi-million dollar orders in option spreads and straddles, municipal bonds and OTC stocks. Leading a team of 8 associates, tasked with monitoring compliance and client satisfaction. Handling escalated client situations I would make decisions to prevent loss of business. To further develop myself I moved to Hong Kong to pursue a MSc in Economics CUHK expected April 2019.

SHIN Joo Kyung

I was born in Korea and raised in China, therefore I speak native Korean, fluent English and Mandarin. I have former experience at a middle office in banking and in consulting company. I had exposure to business development, project management, market research, and data analysis. These experiences have equipped me with the analytical, teamworking, research, and organizational skills. I want to start my career as an analyst in a finance or a consulting firm where I can utilize such skills to build up knowledge in business and market.

ZHOU Ningkang

I have previously worked full-time in Ernst& Young Advisory Limited as a consultant. Through this experience working on financial risk management and performing quantitative analysis, I have gained solid skills relevant to banking, such as analytical, teamwork and finance skills and honed my ability to satisfy clients’ needs.

Besides, I also have completed internship in Haitong Securities Company as an assistant in bond issue team, where I have learned how to conduct in-depth research on corporation’s financial situation& business model, and then drafted and revised prospectuses, which enhanced my financial skills and industry knowledge.

In addition, I studied bachelor of engineering in mechanical engineering and have finance and engineering academic background, which enable me to understand the business model of relevant corporation quickly and thoroughly.
